French wildlife photographer, naturalist, and content creator Théo Bonnefous has been documenting the natural world through his lens since 2018, turning a lifelong passion for nature into a professional practice rooted in observation, patience, and authenticity.

Photography, for me, is above all a way of living immersed in nature and sharing what I observe, not just what I capture.

From my very first Nikon body, I never seriously considered switching. The reliability, ergonomics, and image quality have followed me every step of the way.

Théo approaches wildlife photography as a trained naturalist first and a photographer second. His priority in the field is always understanding the species he follows, observing their behaviour without interference, and waiting for moments that unfold naturally. The images that resonate most with him are those that carry the weight of the search behind them, where the story of getting there matters as much as the frame itself. His relationship with Nikon began at the age of 18, when he invested every euro of his savings into his first Nikon camera and Nikkor lens. From that point, he committed fully to learning the system inside out, gradually expanding his kit as his experience and ambitions grew. Today, his field setup centres on the Nikon Z9 paired with the NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, a combination he describes as simply unbeatable for working in demanding outdoor conditions. He also shoots with the Z6 III and uses converted infrared bodies, including the D850 and D5600, for nocturnal work. For Théo, Nikon has never been a question of choice so much as a natural continuation of a journey that began the moment he first looked through the viewfinder.
